The Object of Your Obsession
This burning inside destroys my world
each time I imagine your face
absent of form violet violent eyes
panther strides revealing my desires
These hands shake on arms of discomfort
embracing crumbling paradigms of truth
Castle walls bricked notions of self
dissolve each time you glance my way
How can this guilty heart love God
stained by insecurities of wine so red
So human this intensity
that perpetuates creation
I cry cuz I can’t keep grip
of this ruin demanded
by your simple calls
for friendly exchange
How can I exist any other way
than the object of your obsession
when I’m crushed every moment
separate from you embrace
